Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information PingWatch collects, how we use it, and how it relates to the monitoring, alerting, incident, analytics, and report-management features offered by the service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect account information such as your name, email address, and profile details from the authentication provider you use to sign in.
We also collect service configuration and operational data you provide or generate in the product, including monitor names, target URLs, SSL/TLS settings, request headers, request bodies, assertion rules, notification destinations, report submissions, and administrative responses.
When monitors run, we store related operational records such as check outcomes, latency, status codes, certificate metadata, incident history, and alert delivery events.
2. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To run monitoring checks and evaluate assertions you configure.
- To generate incidents, analytics, certificate views, and historical activity.
- To send notifications through the channels you enable.
- To process bug or incident reports submitted by users and responses from admins.
- To secure, maintain, and improve the service.
3. Sharing and Processors
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with infrastructure and delivery providers that help us operate PingWatch, such as authentication, database, hosting, analytics, and email delivery services.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service, or to respond to abuse, fraud, or security incidents.
4. Monitoring Data and Sensitive Inputs
Some features may store operationally sensitive information, such as monitored endpoints, request payloads, authentication settings, and issue reports. You should only provide data that you are authorized to use with the service.
If you include confidential or personal information in monitor configuration, report submissions, or notification destinations, that information may be processed as part of the service workflow.
5. Retention and Security
We retain account, monitoring, incident, analytics, and report data for as long as it is needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect data, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Choices
You may update or remove certain account preferences, notification settings, monitors, and reports from within the product. If you want to request deletion of your account or have privacy questions, contact us directly.
